The national tour of the new musical The Bodyguard, based on the film of the same, will launch at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ, November 25 prior to an official tour opening at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN, January 10, 2017.
The U.S. premiere stars R&B recording artist Deborah Cox as Rachel Marron, the role originated on screen by the late Whitney Houston. Cox is known for her single 鈥淣obody鈥檚 Supposed to Be Here,鈥� as well as the Broadway revival of Jekyll & Hyde. Cox also lent her vocals for the 2015 Whitney Houston biopic Whitney.
Thea Sharrock directs the production.
