DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE SHOW: This outrageous, R&B-infused cult classic follows down-on-his-luck Seymour and his bloodthirsty botanical discovery: Audrey II. What starts as a withering flower shop turns into a fame-fueled frenzy鈥 as long as Seymour can keep the plant fed. With Motown beats, maniacal laughs, and one very hungry plant, Little Shop of Horrors is the funniest, freakiest, and most ferociously entertaining show in town. Come see why audiences are screaming鈥 with laughter!

ROLES (casting AEA & non-union actors for the following roles):

Seymour Krelborn: Male, 20s+, Any ethnicity, Tenor/Bari-tenor. Put-upon florist looking for a way out of Skid Row. Pines for Audrey from a distance. Willing to sacrifice a lot to get a little. Awkward with good comedic timing.

Audrey: Female, 20s+, Any ethnicity, Mezzo-Soprano. Ever-hopeful dreamer looking for a way out of Skid Row. Pines for "Somewhere That's Green." Ability to drop in and land certain moments with a glaze of comedic vapidity.

Mr. Mushnik: Male, 40s+, Any ethnicity, Baritone. Burnt-Out florist shop owner looking for a way to survive the next pay period and beyond. Pines for success.

Orin Scrivello, D.D.S./Ensemble: Male, 20s+, Any ethnicity, Baritone/Bari-tenor. Manipulative, abusive dentist lusting for power. Also plays a variety of male ensemble tracks.

Audrey II: Any gender, Any age, Any ethnicity, Alto/Bass. The carnivorous plant. A powerhouse voice, able to toe the line between seductive and explosive. Ensemble/Understudies: Male and female, Any age, Any ethnicity. The inhabitants of the Skid Row neighborhood. Expressive, grounded, and vibrant singer/dancers with the ability to play multiple characters. Will also understudy other roles to be assigned.
