Open Call: Seeking a Partner to Co-Create a Black Women鈥檚 Acting Collective

When I moved to NYC, I searched for an acting collective that reflected, Black women, free in our expression, bold in our movement, unbound by rules-and I didn鈥檛 find it. So I鈥檓 setting out to build it myself, and I鈥檓 looking for a partner to help start this from the ground up.
This collective will be a brave, judgment-free space for Black women artists to explore acting as freedom. Inspired by the raw creativity of The Artist鈥檚 Way, this group will meet once a month to perform a full play with no rehearsals-just presence, instinct, and soul. A month before each meeting, the play will be shared, giving everyone time to read and study. At the gathering, roles will be drawn at random, and the performance will unfold in real time. Before we begin, we鈥檒l connect; after we finish, we鈥檒l let it go-no critique, no pressure, just release. A form of therapy. A form of liberation.
This is about joy, play, presence, and community. If you or someone you know is passionate about Black artistry, performance, and radical creative freedom, please send this their way. I鈥檇 love to build this with someone who shares this vision.
