Theater for the New City Annual Summer Street Theater is 50 member company with around 20 actors and a five-piece band. We are looking for a diverse company of actors who sing and dance. Street Theater plays parks and playgrounds in all five boroughs, and is free to the public.
Schedule: Workshops (unpaid) Monday, June 16th through Friday, June 27th. 6 - 10PM weeknights, 1 - 6PM weekends.
Rehearsals July 15th through August 2nd. 6 - 10PM weeknights, 1 - 6PM weekends (rehearsals may run later as opening approaches). We will pay $50/week.
Performances are weekends only, 2pm August 2nd through September 14th, except for the 5pm performance on Friday, August 15th, at 8pm. We will pay $25/show (13 performances total). There are no performances Labor Day Weekend (September 2nd). Includes Friday night warmups each weekend before performance (and one Thursday warmup August 14th).
Auditions will be held June 7th 2-6pm and June 8th from 2-6pm. Email headshot and resume to Crystal Field at [email protected]. Prepare a song of your choice to be sung acapella. You may be asked to do a short improv. We will email you with a time slot to audition, if you have a day or time preference please let us know.
