Jamie Lloyd Reveals the 3rd Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical He Wants to Revive

Jamie Lloyd's transformative revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Blvd. has won the 2025 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

The production, which has earned rave reviews for its daring reimaging of the classic, is just the beginning for the pair. While Lloyd is currently hard at work on his second Lloyd Webber production, a new revival of Evita that is set to premiere in London's West End starring Rachel Zegler this summer, he already has his eyes on a third show to complete the Lloyd Square revival trio.

"Jesus Christ Superstar! I'd love to do at some point," he shared in the press room after his Sunset's big Tony win. "There was an amazing production in London not long ago, which toured the U.S. as well, so I don't think that'll happen anytime soon, but maybe one day."

Lloyd Webber is, instead, focusing on a new musical he is currently writing for Lloyd to direct. "My main focus now, when I get back to London, is to keep writing The Illusionist. Next week, I'll be back in London with Jamie and the writers, back to what comes next. The most fantastic thing in the world is to be lucky enough to know what you want to do in life, I think. And then, if you're lucky enough to actually have a career in it, it's fantastic. And if you've had the sort of career that I've had, it's just just wonderful. And I'm so lucky. I love musicals. I've already got an idea for yet another one after this new one. I just love it!"
