Broadway News Jordan Donica Joins Cast of Tony-Winning Sunset Blvd. Revival June 10

Jamie Lloyd's production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber recently won three 2025 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.

Jordan Donica, last on Broadway in a Tony-nominated turn as Lancelot in the Lincoln Center Theater revival of Camelot, returns to the Main Stem June 10 in the Tony-winning Best Revival of a Musical Sunset Blvd. at the St. James Theatre.

Donica steps into the role of Max von Mayerling in the Jamie Lloyd-directed production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. He succeeds Olivier winner David Thaxton, who played his final performance June 8. Thaxton had been with the hit revival since rehearsals began in London鈥檚 West End in August 2023, subsequently earning an Olivier nomination for his portrayal of Norma Desmond's devoted butler.

Donica has also starred on Broadway in My Fair Lady and The Phantom of the Opera as well as in regional and touring productions of Hamilton, Les Mis茅rables, and Jesus Christ Superstar. He will also appear in the upcoming third season of HBO Max鈥檚 The Gilded Age.

The Broadway company of Sunset also stars 2025 Tony and 2024 Olivier winner Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond, Tony nominee and Olivier winner Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, and Olivier nominee Grace Hodgett Young as Betty Schaefer.

Sunset Blvd. earned three Tony Awards June 10: Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical (Scherzinger), and Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Jack Knowles).

The Broadway staging has set and costume design by Soutra Gilmour, choreography by Fabian Aloise, music supervision and musical direction by Alan Williams, lighting design by Jack Knowles, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design and cinematography by Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom, hair and makeup design by Cheryl Thomas, intimacy coordination by Ann James, U.S. casting by Jim Carnahan and Jason Thinger and U.K. casting by Stuart Burt. Johnny Milani is the production stage manager, and 101 Productions, Ltd. serves as the general manager.

The musical is currently playing an extended limited engagement at the St. James through July 20.

Sunset Blvd. is produced by The Jamie Lloyd Company, ATG Productions, Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, and Gavin Kalin Productions by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd and based on the Paramount Pictures film directed by Billy Wilder.
