As Marg Howell reflects on winning the Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Play, the Australian costume designer feels most impressed by American audiences' enthusiasm for theatre.
"The thing that happens with Broadway is that people want to love the work, and they go very optimistic about what they might be seeing," said Horwell in an exclusive interview with 半岛体育 just moments after her big win. "I think that they're also very vocal about how they like the work, and we've had such an incredible response that people have [been] contacting us and speaking to us. In a way, there's such a conversation about art here and that's an amazing thing."
The Picture of Dorian Gray is currently running at the Music Box Theatre until June 29.
