Signature Theatre鈥檚 SigSpace鈥攚hich brings artistic programming to the Pershing Square Signature Center鈥檚 public spaces, including its lobby鈥攁gain joins forces with Theatre for One to present six one-on-one, five-to-six minute theatrical experiences beginning June 9.
D茅j脿 Vu features the world premiere of a new microplay by Samuel D. Hunter, whose Signature Premiere Residency continues in the 2022-2023 season with A Bright New Boise, plus five works from Theatre for One, many presented at Signature in 2016, including those written by Jos茅 Rivera, DeLanna Studi, and former Signature resident playwrights David Henry Hwang, Regina Taylor, and Lynn Nottage.
Featured works include Hunter鈥檚 Brick, directed by SR膼A; Hwang鈥檚 My Anniversary, directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene; Nottage鈥檚 #Five, directed by Greene; Rivera鈥檚 Lizzy, directed by Rudy Ramirez; Studi鈥檚 Before America Was America, directed by Ramirez; and Taylor鈥檚 D茅j脿 Vu, directed by Greene. Each day will have a different combination of works running in rep; prior to entering the booths, audiences won鈥檛 know which of these works will be presented.
Theatre for One鈥檚 mobile performance space鈥攁 new, ADA-accessible, COVID-safe booth built last summer鈥攊s stationed in the Griffin Lobby at the Center on weekends June 9鈥�26 (Thursdays and Fridays 5鈥�9 PM, Saturdays 3鈥�7 PM, Sundays 2鈥�6 PM).
